We Started Small, Just Like You
Back in 2017, we weren't some big corporate team. Just three people sitting around a kitchen table in Adelaide, frustrated by how complicated budgeting felt.
Everyone kept talking about complex financial strategies and investment portfolios. But what about the basics? What about people who just wanted to stop living paycheck to paycheck?
So we built something different. Something that actually made sense to real people dealing with real bills.

How We Got Here
It's been eight years of learning, growing, and figuring things out alongside thousands of Australians.
The Beginning
Started with free weekend workshops at a community center in Adelaide. Twenty people showed up to the first one. We taught them envelope budgeting with actual envelopes.
Going Online
Built our first proper online course after hundreds of people asked for something they could do from home. Took us six months to film everything in a spare bedroom.
Finding Our Voice
Stopped trying to sound like traditional finance educators. Started talking like actual humans. Our course completion rates doubled in three months.
Community Growth
Hit 5,000 students across Australia. Started monthly live sessions where people could ask questions without feeling judged. Those sessions are still our favorite part.
Looking Forward
Planning new programs for autumn 2025 focused on helping families budget together. Because money stress affects everyone at home, not just the person paying bills.
What Makes Us Different
We're not here to sell you complicated financial products or pretend budgeting is exciting. We just teach practical skills that work for regular people.

Freja Lindgren
Head of EducationFreja joined us in 2018 after spending years as a high school math teacher. She got tired of seeing her students' parents struggle with money basics while schools taught advanced calculus.
She designs all our courses and runs our live sessions. Her rule is simple: if a 16-year-old can't understand it, we're explaining it wrong.
Before zylaraqenti, she volunteered at financial counseling services and saw firsthand how small changes in budgeting habits could transform someone's entire situation. That's what drives everything we create.
Where We're Headed
We're not trying to become the biggest education platform or expand into every financial topic imaginable. That's not really the point.
Our goal for the next few years is straightforward. Keep helping people get comfortable with basic budgeting. Make our courses better based on what students tell us actually works.
We're launching family-focused workshops in September 2025 because so many of our students asked for ways to teach their kids about money without making it awkward.
And we're keeping everything affordable. Education shouldn't cost so much that you need a budget just to learn how to budget.
